We're here to celebrate the fiber arts and all the amazing people who make them shine! Our festival is all about keeping things welcoming, affordable, and fun-a place where everyone can join in, from local yarn dyers and fiber artists to curious beginners picking up their first skein. By keeping costs low and spirits high, we hope to lift up small businesses, spark creativity, and bring our community together through a shared love of all things fiber-where fiber connects us all.
Stitchburgh Pa is currently seeking volunteers to help during the festival.

"THE SHAWL PROJECT, a division of Bethany Community Ministries
GOALS
The members of “The Shawl Project” create handcrafted blankets, shawls, afghans and lapghans for donation to the sick, shut-in, unhoused and otherwise disadvantaged populations in our local community and city.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Through these gifts, we intend to share God’s love with those going through difficult times so they know they are loved, seen, heard and not forgotten.

We also share our knowledge of crochet, knitting and other fiber arts with those who want to learn. We have a particular affection for teaching the value of crafting and giving to young people and our older adult friends. We’ve presented blankets to Veteran’s Place, Light of Life Mission, Operation Safety Net, Off the Floor Pittsburgh, and many more local non-profit organizations."

S.A.C.K. (Supporting A Community with Kindness) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization where knitters/crocheters make sacks, fill them with a full bar of soap (in its original packaging) and then donate them to food pantries, homeless shelters, veterans clinics, social service agencies, etc. (www.soapsacks.com)
During the three days of Stitchsburgh, stop by the S.A.C.K. table to donate sacks and soap, pick up cotton/cotton yarn to make sacks…..or just to say hello to Stacy Wiener, Founder of S.A.C.K.

Our mission is simple: to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. We do this by giving them gifts of new, handmade blankets, quilts and afghans, lovingly created for Project Linus by volunteer "blanketeers." The Blanketeers are part of our mission, as well: we seek to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.
